Screenwriting Essentials for 2018

Ever dream of writing your own movie or TV script?  Learn how to write and sell screenplays at the Monterey County Film Commission’s REEL Jobs: The New Era of Screenwriting with Madeline DiMaggio.  She’s a screenwriter, author and accomplished writing teacher from Los Angeles. The lecture will be at the Irvine Auditorium at MIIS (McCone Bldg. corner of Jefferson & Pierce Streets) and run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Coffee and light snacks beginning at 8:45 a.m.) Tickets are $30, and discounted student tickets are $10.  If you’d like to stay and meet up at the local Writers Networking luncheon, please pre-register ($15 per person). As an added bonus, Final Draft will be providing two lucky attendees with gift certificates for digital download of Final Draft screenwriting software (est. value $250 each). Be sure to register early for your chance to win!

Have a script you’d like to pitch, or get professional feedback on?  You can sign up in advance for a limited number of one-on-one coaching appointments (for an additional fee) with Madeline, following the luncheon.

This event is sponsored in part by the Arts Council for Monterey County and Final Draft with support from the Monterey County Board of Supervisors.  MCFC has been bringing “lights, camera, and economic action” throughout Monterey County for more than 30 years and has accounted for more than $106 million in positive economic impact.    Buy your tickets now!
